Miss March is off the road...literally!
 

Unfortunately "Miss March" (see club's 2009 calendar) took a sideways journey off road and down a ditch yesterday also hitting a tree for good measure on the way! The recovery vehicle couldn't get it out initially as there wasn't enough grip on the road so they had to get the heavy machinery out!
I am now awaiting the assessor's report on Monday to see what the damage is. Will then have to make a decision as I reckon it could be borderline write-off given labour costs these days. Hopefully I can get her back as she is much loved!

Thanks to Bucks County Council for not putting a major route (that TomTom takes everyone down!) on their gritting map.

Sorry to hear about your news, we know how you feel.

We lost 'Letty' on a corner last night - same thing, in that the council had 'dropped' the road from the gritting list this year- we also know one of the gritting sub-contractors who were told their services weren't required.
It's an A road joining two major A roads and the only access for 12 villages.

What makes it worse was the interview on radio 4 about gritting yesterday where they said they were on top of it after last year and all councils now have a minimum of 6 days supply. I didn't realise that they had 6 days supply by only gritting half as much....

I fine thanks. What really rubs salt (or lack of it) into the wound was that as I was walking home afterwards, a gritting lorry came down the road from one end to the other with it's gritter turned off...as soon as it go to the end of the road he turned it on again - absolutely mindless!

this is so sad and a warning to all to be extra careful in this weather, its easy in the comfort and warmth of the 75 to forget whats going on outside the car, not snowing where i live but still cold, i always keep an eye on the outside temperature on the dash and as soon as it drops below freezing time to slow down even more.

I hope its not catching, my conny was Miss April in the same calendar

Hope it isn't a write off, even sideways in a ditch she looks stunning and would be a crying shame.

Better start a few degrees above freezing, as the road surface may be a little bit colder at some spots.
