Very squeaky clutch pedal

Hi. These last few days my clutch cable has got very squeaky when I press down on it. Any ideas what will be causing this? And can it be fixed? Car is mk1 75 diesel. Thanks.

Yes as the above post lubricate it, when the warmer weather arrives they seem to become squeaky, I've used white grease with some success on one of my cars.

Right, it's been lubed up good today and it's still very squeaky. Grrrrr....

It's more likely the pedal box. Some may not like WD 40 in that area but it fixed mine. It's more of a creak than a squeak.

OK, I'll give this a go.
