I'd like to buy an IPK sounder late ipk
My sounder has died and I have no "key left" , "lights on" og parking sensor warning sound..
Can anybody point me In the right direction on where I might get one? I read here that someone soldered a headphone speaker as a replacement? Thanks:} |
My first port of call would be my local iPhone repair shop, not only is he capable of tiny soldering but might be able to advise on a suitable speaker.
Al Cramb, in Newton Abbot, repairs IPKs, and might have some spares, you can find him on Facebook. Very helpful guy and reasonable prices. If you can't find him send me a Message. Good luck |
Yes - I grafted in a small speaker from a set of headphones. (Old walkman over-the-ear type)
It works but it's quieter than original. Would be nice to have the proper thing but I couldn't source anything. The old one didn't have much markings on it (eg impedance) Soldering in wasn't a problem - think I cut the pins from the old one and left a bit of the pins poking out of the PCB. There's a good how-to to get the clocks out on here - useful, but it misses one bit which is some plastic prongs that need releasing from slots to slide it forward. It was a couple of years since, I forget exactly. |
Sorted. Found a dead cheap ipk online and took out the sounder and soldered it in..
All good and GONGing loud and clear now:D |
The original sounder can be replaced. Just 2 pins which are soldered to the board. I done quite a fair few of these over 7 years, became more common over the last 2-3 years I noticed.
