Wheel arch liner
 

Guys my wheel arch liner came off after I went over a large pothole I'll attempt to put it back at the weekend could anybody advise about fixing points thanks

If it's a front one then as I recall you just need to disconnect the ABS plug and pull it up out of the way into the engine compartment. There are then a couple of screws at the rear attaching it to the little stubby mudflap thing and a couple at the front attaching it to the brake cooling deflector. The rest is just scrivets. Make sure you have a supply of new ones as you're bound to break at least one getting it off.

There are quite a lot of them Albert. Removing the relevant road wheel and referring to your Haynes manual will probably provide the information you need. Once you've identified the fittings which need replacing, I can give you part numbers.

There is a posi screw just behind the front bumper (that’s usually broken off at the bumper end though) then there are plastic scrivets on that left hand side of the inner arch, right hand side of inner arch, top of inner arch and a sneaky one behind the brake pipe!

Then you have to remove the mud flap (if fitted) or the posi screw that holds the plastic trim in the area where the mud flap should be.

The plastic screw-rivets are in two sizes. Those attaching the liners to the metal panels are 8mm (that's the hole size). There are four or five of these. There are also two 10mm ones that go into the front subframe lower face. You can get them both on eBay. Ensure to buy the screw-type (with 20mm heads) or they may not expand enough to hold the liner. I know all this 'cos I wasted a fiver on push-rivets that didn't work.

If it fell off I would bet that someone didn't put the scrivets back in when they had it off last. As mentioned above there are quite a few of them and they grip really well.
Rimmers web site will give you the correct part number.

I have some of this to do too on my 75 cdti Tourer, but other things (rear wheel bearing tis weekend) more important. I have a stack of trim parts to do but don't know what the part numbers are for them - the cover above the pedals, the plastic trim inside the doors, obtain a new undertray and fit it (didn't realise it was a hump back bridge I hit and bottomed out the other side), find replacement plastic trim for the entry point to the tailgate floor where I cracked it etc. Apart from trying to trawl through Rimmers for the right thing and not get it, is there a simple fixing to trim match up tabulation somewhere?


Forgot the scuttle panel thing immediately below the windscreen across the whole front but got some of those clips and then found the panel is damage anyhow. PO had used tie wrapsinside the engine bay.
