CDT -v- CDTi

During my search for a replacement 75 I notice that some adverts include the i, but is there an actual differnece in the diesel engine spec? If so what are the differentiators and are they meaningful ones for my buying decision?

The only difference between the two is in the ECU, giving the CDT approx 115 BHP and the CDTi approx 130 BHP, other than that all else is the same. Dont worry about buying a CDT if you think the 115 BHP is not enough ( it can get a bit sluggish pulling away ), Rover Ron has a host of tricks that are plug and play which will overcome these difficulties with ease.

This is a Continual Problem for People.
CDTi means it can be either Engine Output as was used for both not just the 131bhp.
CDT on its own generally means the Lower Output.
The Only sure way is Reg. Document, or Label Inside Door Pillar.
There is further Information on this on previous threads, if you wish to view further.

Yep, the CDTi is pretty missleading. During my search, I came across 3 CDTi's of which were all listed as being 115bhp on the V5.

From what I remember all ZTs were listed as CDTis whether they were 116 or 131.

75s on the other hand distinguished between the two in general (CDT was 116 and CDTi was 131)

I'm afraid even the 75's got called CDTi even with the 116BHP engine in the end. Most confusing.

One thing we should slap KH for. I bet it was his fault.
