Newbie Advice and Cambelt replacement

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a ZT and after scouring the web for a decent model at a decent price I have found a Solar Red late 2002 V6 160+ owned by a nice lady who has cherished it. The only issue I have with the car is that it's got 82k on the clock (mainly motorway miles) and I know that the ZT is due new cambelts at 90k and I have just found out about the general cost of this job. ie £1000.

Does anybody know of a garage in the Berkshire/Heathrow area that doesn't cost the earth when it comes to doing this job?

I do have some time to go as I only average 6k a year but would rather do it sooner than later.

HELP!!! :(

Hi and welcome :)

£1000 is well over the top nowadays, even for the full 90k service. Don't know of a garage in your area but do recommend contacting member lates on here (or www.lates600.com).

The trip up to get the job done properly by lates will be paid for by the £££ you also save.

Do a search to hear more of the work he does

hth

Mike :)

You need a drive up to Rugby to visit Lates, he's the cambelt king and looks after a lot of our cars. You will be pleasantly suprised by the real cost of this job. While you wait service.
www.lates600.com or PM "Lates" on here, he usually logs on most days so he may well respond to this thread as well.

BTW manners. Welcome to the forum and the club.
