Four or five years back, there was a site which had a 1Gb photo on it.

It was a panorama of a city in Holland IIRC.

Didn't look especially exciting, but then you could zoom in and in and in to the point you could quite easily read a numberplate on a car. It was very impressive.

I found this website http://www.3dmekanlar.com/sites.html with lots of interresting places to visit.
However files must be downloaded to enjoy the view in 3D. One can preview the location in 2D before download.
