Seat belt Pretensioner cable

I've recently been informed that the cable that attaches to the rear of the front seat frame is something to do with the seat belt Pretensioner system, now I've watched a you tube video that explains how the Pretensioner works in an accident but am at a loss as to how the cable (pictured) operates within the system.

Could one of the club Gurus enlighten me please.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b49c1b0219.jpg

The cable is used for seat belt height adjustment. As you slide the seat rearwards, the cable is pulled thus raising the height the seat belt in the b-pillar.

Thanks very much Matt. I thought it was strange that it was linked to the pre-tensioner system unless by its job as being to racist the belt height is to make sure that in an accident the belt does not cause Injury to the person's body?
