!HELP! lost key blade

I seem to have lost my key blade (the brass bit at the end only) Must have dropped off somewhere! I still have remote lock bit.
What's the easiest way to fix this, I was hoping a scrap yard barrel and key and swap the electronic inards.
Can anyone help? Thanks

I have lock sets but the ingintion barrel can not be removed without the key. You need thd key to turn it to the first postion to slide the tool in to remove the barrel. You maybe able to drill the barrel out not sure on this though.

From the school of proper evil design.....
I will have a good look for the blade tonight, not hopeful but worth try before the drill comes out. might take you up on the lock offer tomorrow.
Can anyone else offer a fix?
Thanks
Jim

I take it you only have 1 key?

and you have checked it is not in the barrel, door or boot lock?

Do you have any idea where you lost it? (I know, a stupid question) but maybe you could buy/borrow a metal detector and trace your movements, does this sound silly? I believe it's a long process to get another key, try a PM to the T4 guys

My daughter in law lost the only key to her locked 75. A lock smith was called out-I have no idea what they did but at the end of it we had a replacement key that would manually unlock the car then start the engine. How they knew how to cut the key pattern without the original I have no idea-oh and it did cost £ 200.00 . By accident my daughter in law had ticked the optional extra on her insurance policy for key protection; we got a cheque for the £ 200.00 a week later.:}.Might be worth checking your insurance policy-good luck:}

As klarzy says, check the boot lock, that's where I found mine:duh:

Thanks all, will try a locksmith if no luck finding the key. £200 will be hard to swallow but hay ho.
It can only be in the 30 yards from my door to the car so I'm hopefull it turn up yet. Have tried the lock but no luck there. I had to get to work this morning so didnt look for too long.
Just my luck but the drive way has deposits of iron slag so a metal detector will be useless.

Yay found it......
After a full 30 second but more measured search, it turned up next to the drain behind my house.
Thanks for all the help.
