She is booked-in and will be 10 years young
 
Well! booked her in for the dreaded MOT for this Thursday. :(

She will be 10 years young on the Wednesday, that's when she was registered back on 28th April 2000. :birthday:


So wish us luck guys! for a good outcome...... :D

I've got mine in a couple of months.

If youve found no problems and havent changed much (Lights etc) then im sure it will pass :D

................ well! she is all ready for tomorrow, she's looking her best. Its amazing how all that dirt and road grime hides her beauty, she is 10 years young today (yeah! I know I'm sad).

So wish both of us luck, will be using a local garage and dropping her off in the morning. ;)

Failed :(

............ but not on the Handbrake! :shrug: (that's an advisory).

Wasn't too bad but then again its still gonna cost a few hundred quid to give her a pass. :(

Failed on...
1. Windscreen has sticker or another obstruction encroaching into the swept area by more than 40mm outside zone.
2. Nearside headlamp aim to high and too far to the left.
3. Offside headlamp aim too far to the left.
4. Offside front anti-roll bar linkage has excessive play in a ball joint.
5. Nearside front (to rear) brake pipe inadequately clipped.
6. Nearside front (to rear) brake pipe inadequately supported.
7. Offside rear coil spring fractured.

Advisory Items..... :mad:
8. Nearside direction indicator slightly discoloured.
9. Nearside front (below 2mm) Tyre worn close to the legal limit.
10. Offside front tyre worn close to legal limit.
11. Rear exhaust has part of the system slightly deteriorated.
12. Rear anti-roll bar corroded but not seriously weakened.
13. Nearside rear suspension arm corroded but not seriously weakened.
14. Offside rear suspension arm corroded but not seriously weakened.
15. Nearside rear coil spring corroded.
16. N/S wiper blade splitting.
17. Handbrake minimal reserve travel. :D


So what do you think guys? is she worth doing :shrug:

Failed on...
1. Windscreen has sticker or another obstruction encroaching into the swept area by more than 40mm outside zone. DONE! Taken down Sat Nav Holder. :mad:
2. Nearside headlamp aim to high and too far to the left. DONE! Adjusted at garage.
3. Offside headlamp aim too far to the left. DONE! Adjusted at garage.
4. Offside front anti-roll bar linkage has excessive play in a ball joint. Being done next week, cost £57.00. :confused:
5. Nearside front (to rear) brake pipe inadequately clipped. Being done next week, cost ?????? they have not quoted as not sure on time it will take to refit pipes. :confused::confused::confused:
6. Nearside front (to rear) brake pipe inadequately supported. Being done next week, cost ?????? they have not quoted as not sure on time it will take to refit pipes. :confused::confused::confused:
7. Offside rear coil spring fractured. Being done next week, but only x1spring at a cost of £117 all in. :confused::confused::confused:

Do you think I am being taken for a ride, so to speak..... :shrug:

...... any help would be much appreciated. :}

Unlucky mate.

I think we all hate getting our cars MOT'd no matter how old or young they are.

Hope you get it all sorted out soon.

get it done!
although im battling rust and 37 years of wear on my Jag so anything with less i see as easy~!

i failed today too
handbrake was only 11%
and get this..........

my brake pipes that run near the fuel tank were dirty?! w£nk%r!! ;-)

I totally agree, its silly on what little things class as a falure now-a-days. :shrug:


Would anyone know if these springs would be any good for my 75 , i.e quality etc...

Does anybody know what the going rate is for a garage to fit x2 rear coil springs these days.....?
