K bus identification

Am installing the temp gauge display, and have read of the red/white with yellow dot cable, as the k-bus. I can find a red/white cable easily but see no yellow dots (which I've read are notoriously difficult to spot). Problem is, all the red/white wires carry 12v when illumination is on, which was not what I was expecting and therefore assume to be illumination for switches and radio etc. I have found the red/white in many places, and all are the same.

Does the k bus carry this voltage when lights are on?

I thought I had found what I needed from what I assume to be an unused (and will not be needed in my ownership) traction or traffic master plug. But again switching the lights on, I get the same 12v. This stands to reason as the switches are illuminated. But where I doubt myself, is the stereo one. When lights go on, the stereo dims, which suggests that it could be what I am looking for.

I have searched in the forum, but find no further info. Have read in the search that there is also a buff with green stripe one too  which I can find here too. Have just got rave but hoping to avoid trying learning how to use it whilst my console is dismantled.

I know there is one on the lsm plug, and bcu etc, but am trying to keep wiring short and simple.

Is there any way to run a meter to look for voltage too, to confirm.

It is a mk2 diesel if that makes a difference.

Just found it on an unused plug. More white with red and many yellow dots :o
