Fuel pumps (Diesel)

Been asked before.

I am going to replace the U/B pump cos! it is making a funny noise I have been trying to listen to the in tank one when ignition is turned on and to be honest cant hear anything,,,,, NOW! question is should I replace both at the same time or would it be false economy just to do the one.

Replace both as the reason for the under bonnet one to fail is a dead in tank pump.

As already said Julien, do both.

Just replace the actual pump on the in-tank assembly (you don't need to replace the whole assembly)
