Brake Pad Warning Light
 

I have this come on, but the pads have plenty of meat on them.

I know that you are able to disable the warning by connecting a couple of wires together.

Can anyone let me know where and an easy way of doing this?

On the connector from the caliper, cut the 2 wires from it & join together, completing the loop, harness side:cool:

Also check the brake fluid. As far as I know, it's the same warning light for low level. :shrug:OOps No. That would be on the handbrake warning light!

A new wear sensor is about £8

I had the same problem today with my rear brake pads and I realize that the pads were in very good conditions. Unfortunately, I already bought new ones :( So I believe the best
practice is to also replace the sensor when fitting new pads ;)

I temporarily disconnected the faulty sensor until receiving the new one

That is all fine, but I replaced the sensors on my V6 only to find the warning light still on. Eventually,I traced it to be a connection problem.

However, the diesel, that I have, is a work horse. I know that the pads are ok, so would rather keep an eye on the pads, like we all used to do in the old days! :D

Brake pad wear sensors are a waste of time IMO

I’ve looped them out on all my cars over the last 10 or so years.

The wear indicator came on in my Jaguar XF so “believing it” I went out and bought a new set of pads.
When I went to fit them, there was still more than 50% of pads left.

With regular maintenance it’s easy to see when your pads require replacing.

Yes the black connector next to the ABS blue connector, cut wire leaving enough to join together, pull apart take it off the car and do the wire connections as below ;) strip wires, twist together, bend wires over,slip on a little bit of hear shrink, flash it with a lighter, then plug back on the car job done, I carry at least 5 of these already made up for the nano meet to swap out should anyone want it doing.
