Common rail fuel pressure sensor

Anyone have a picture of the diesel fuel rail pressure sensor.

Hope you're keeping well. I meant where its actually is situated under the bonnet lol.

My car just started to play up, not starting and cutting out.
With garage but I'm sure I know more than they do.

I had this problem. I have hopefully fixed it last week. Been fine since. Driven (80 miles ) pulled fuel pump relay out with pliers as it seemed like it was welded in there. All corroded, swapped it for the horn relay put some contact cleaner on it and now ( fingers crossed 🤞) all ok. Relay is located in passengers foot well. Hope you get yours fixed soon. It sits on the end of the common rail Rich. Remove the acoustic panel and follow the metal pipes back from the injectors to the common rail and you'll spot it from Andy's photo.

Remove engine cover, 3x 8mm bolts, as you know, then just under the manifold you will see the end of the fuel rail.

Hi Chaps,

So car was running fine then one day last week took longer to start. I didn’t think any about it until on the Friday it would start! the tank was less than quarter full.

Just as I gave up the car started so filled tank to half full. Car started okay but then struggled again later when engine warm, took 3-4 times turn over.

Then on the Monday started okay but seemed to take longer, then as pulling away from lights car cut out, engine management light came on, but started immediately after and managed to get to work.

Fault code “1190 rail pressure plausibility”.

With garage now but I’m convinced they are struggling to fix. I know there are lots of threads on here, but any guidance would be much appreciated.


I was convinced it was the in tank pump but they say not. I have a spare hp reg that I've given them to try but also rad corroded wires on pressure sensor??

Hi Richard.
You would have been better of taking the car to Bigruss, as the garage may well try this and that which does not find the problem, get them to do a leak back test, or get the car beck and over to bigruss

Sounds more like the high pressure pump solenoid. Might be worth considering.
