DRL Angle Eye fog lamps (MG7/ MGZT Mk1)
Spotted these while browsing through Aliexpress - has anyone got any experience of these on a UK car yet? Might be a neat DRL solution for our cars?

At £121.52 a pair!
Here's a "How To" to do it for (almost) nothing. http://forums.ddns.net/bill/i/forums/thumbup.gif http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=194461 |

The angle eye fogs are pricey - but I quite like the look of them. Whether I like them £121's worth, I am not so sure... I am thinking they'll look a bit like the MINI DRLs: http://i79.servimg.com/u/f79/17/44/65/61/img_8114.jpg Problems (other than cost) that I foresee: 1. They'll fit the bumper, but will they fit the harness? The Chinese removed the BMW CAN BUS system I believe and have replaced it with something made locally - and no idea whether this would be plug-compatible with UK-built cars 2. I'd still need a DRL circuit, as it is not clear that the lights come with anything suitable. |

Ignition live, through the diode to switch the DRL's on with the ignition, and then the relay wired in series with the sidelights, to disconnect the live feed to the DRL's once you switch the sidelights on. I've never tried... But if the foglamps can be taken apart, there'd be nothing stopping you fitting some angel eye rings in there if the right size are available. |
Fot Light DRL;s

True! :)
The other thought I had was to mount a strip inside the moulded air ducts in the ZT bumper, below the styling strake: http://ebayapi.loc8apartltd.netdna-c...RXDqpH/$_1.JPG Perhaps with something like this (bay of fleas, naturally): http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/ODAwWDgwMA...XINVo/$_57.JPG |

I went for something a little different.
L shape Drls in the top grill and an extra set of Fogs with Led bulbs in. The Drls are the COB Type and are VERY bright and are on as soon as you turn the ignition on. Not to everybodies taste........but I like em. !! :D:D |
Tucking behind the grille is a good idea - although I'd be more tempted to go with the lower grille option.
What is the diameter of the fog lamp? Is it around 80mm? |
