Water in boot

Hi I’m after a bit of advice my dad bought a 75 saloon and the boot was full of water as I have 75s in the past I knew what to look for so I changed the light seals which were leaking so stopped that leak the side trim is fine the the vents behind the bumper are fine as well 🙂 now we have looked today and it is leaking by the boot lid hinges 🤔 any ideas
Thanks
John

Rear window clips perhaps? Have a feel under the window for the clips and see if they're wet. Pull back the rubber from around the base of the window and you'll see them 😎

Yeah, just sealant, or Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack cure 😎

I don't know if this will help,

but last weekend I was in the boot of mine, and on top of the boot hinge on the left hand side someone has covered the top of the hinge with silicone sealant.

I don't have a wet boot ( at the moment ) and I don't intend to remove the sealant, but someone in the past has obviously had an issue.

I'll try and post a pic of where I mean.

Update

Bit of an update I went to have a look today and it’s dripping inside the boot underneath where the hinge is if that makes sense I’ve had a poke around and can’t feel any wetness anywhere 🤔one thing I have noticed the seal around the side and bottom of the windscreen there is a gap the rubber is not pressed against the windscreen so I can only think it’s come in there

There used to be a product called seek and seal, not sure who it was made by, but I used it on a Metro of mine around the windscreen, and it did a brilliant job.
It was very "runny" almost like water. You put it around your windscreen rubber, let it run into all the nooks and crannies and just left it to dry.
It worked for me. Much better than loads of silicone sealant and the like.

There are a couple of body seams that can leak at the bottom corners of the rear screen. It's worth checking the sealant in those and maybe cleaning them up and resealing.

I'd still say window clips. It runs from them and gathers at an obstacle- lower area than clips. That happened to me. Captain Tolleys is good. But I replaced the clips and added silicone.
