How much pressure to test cooling system.

Hi All,

Whilst waiting for my new cooling fan to arrive, I thought I would test the cooling system for leaks.

Read some horror stories about people damaging the system by over pressurising.

What pressure should I pump the cooling system up to, and how long should I leave it pressurised?

Go up to the cap release pressure (roughly 21psi). However if your planning on testing ideally you'd want 21psi at operating temperature. A cold test will prove any major leaks but may not show hairline cracks or pin holes that open at higher temperatures.

I plan to do a system pressure test shortly, so how would I go about this?
