Door mirror

Hi all hope you all keeping well, got a problem with my drivers door mirror when it folds in the motor keeps going and clicks, can it be mended or does it have to be a complete replacement, thanks all ;)

My drivers side powerfold is doing the same. I've assumed It's because the cogs are worn.

I've bought replacement cogs but haven't yet plucked up the courage to take the mirror off and follow the excellent How to on here by Trebor.

If you are reading this Rob, can you advise?
