Started snowing again here and the roads are like ice skating rinks :eek:

We have about 3feet here, took the Connie for the first time this morning, she just ploughed through as if the snow wasn’t there. Mind have mud & snow tyres on front at moment. Just pulled a out of my street that had been stuck for 5 mins lol

Moral of the story is modern tyres are pants in this type of weather.. winter tyres are the future

Just been out to next village to the nrarest grit bin to fill a bag.
Our own city council do not provide them due to cuts, so had to go to next county to get some. Constant snowfall and blizzards are keeping the roads treacherous. We have about 7 inches of snow and -4°, more to come.

Just appeared on the Traffic Scotland Twitter page, the A1 is closed not far north of you Rich, between Alnwick and the Border.

Aye I heard about that, Alnwick is about 35 miles and an hour north of me. There is chaos all around us . Even the A69, the main Newcastle to Carlisle road, has been dodgy.
