It would be quicker to download rather then waiting for post?

Christopher 3rd November 2006 22:18

I've got a few, if I find one tomorrow would be happy to send, but by the time you get it it might be quicker to download!!

Just let me know

Thanks :D Could I download it as an` exe file to a cd and then shove it in the pc that needs it?

Christopher 3rd November 2006 22:35

Not sure its an exe - but you *could* install XP, connect to internet then use the autoupdate and let it download sp2 ... I'll send teh CD if its easier in the long run!!

To save the hassle of doing that again (installing XP and then SP2) why not simply make yourself a "slipstream" disk?

for full information go here:

http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm

(please note this is perfectly legal for you to do, as long as you only use your own discs and its for your own PC) :)

I have even went a step further, in that every month I make a new CD up with all the updates installed already and you can even get really techy and make up a DVD with all your software on it as well (but thats a bit too geeky for even me :D )
