Air con regassed & 3 speed fan brushes replaced, but...

Right, if anyone fancies a bit of a challenge or head scratch, I need some assistance (spent all evening searching threads & I'm at a loss now.)
I have had the brushes replaced on my 3 speed fan & it has been run on the bench all working. I have replaced the air con condenser (thanks Jules) & had the system leak checked & regassed today.
Problem is switch 'demist' on & the fan does not run. The garage that regassed it said the air con was all good but they had to bypass the relays to get the air con to run up, how I'm unsure though. One thing the garage did say was that the engine bay relays (2 of them) got very hot.
Any hints, tips, direction or a thread will be appreciated.

This doesn't make much sense. Which relays? Can you ask your garage to point them out to you and report back.

Simon.

The relays getting hot; 1 is the internal blower (R5) & the other is engine relay (R4) both yellow, bottom left & right. I have swapped their locations & the same location makes that relay hot.

Relay getting very hot normally means very high current flowing trough them have you got any restrictions in the system? (b4 blower) ie has to work harder or maybe theres a small short circuit? It's a stab in the dark

Lol it's funny the sun comes out for a day and theres about 4 new threads about aircons including mine lol

first Q:

When driving 30mph+ and the A/C is set to low ( not Econ) does the aircon work? IE is it blowing Icy cold through the vents?

if so we can safely say the A/C system is sound and the problem is indeed with the fan/relays/etc

The fan relays are in the fan control box, not the engine bay fuse box. You need the bumper off to check the fan relays. The engine bay relays are another issue.

No, it blows toasty warm/hot, probably the same as the OAT. The garage did the dye, pressure test, charge, oil etc...it was ice cold, but they bypassed the air con relay to get it to fire up, as far as I know the fan ran up too.
Regards the 4 wire fan, it ran up on the bench post brush replacement.
