I was driving home from work last night, and on the local radio station the newsreader was talking about a chemical incident on a road in sheffield. I thought - hang on a minute, my brother in law lives on there.


The newsreader said that the police had evacuated people from their homes, and that all the emergency services were on the scene, including a bomb disposal team. I just had to ring my bro in law to see what the crack was. He said - "Tell me about it bro, it's my ******* next door neighbour that the police have arrested and i can't get in my own house!"


The neighbour was arrested for allegedly making class a drugs, but today it turns out there's explosive chemicals in the vacinity too. My bro in law tells me they've carried out a controlled explosion in the area, and upto now, he doesn't know if his house is safe because he's being kept in the dark about events. I'd be pretty miffed if it were me.

This seems the trouble with the police these days they dont keep people updated when they are concerned about getting back into the house ETC

Sums it up that does Derek. Last night, my bro in law was waiting for a information as to whether they could go back home or not, because they'd been told to keep away. In the end, he went back home, and the phone rang. It was the police ..... to say "you can go home now!" Honest - im not kidding.

Oh no not another cat issue:( poor little mite

Unfortunately, he's so old that the vet thinks he will struggle to come through. A biopsy would confirm the diagnosis but this type of cancer, if confirmed, is very aggressive, and would spread quickly.

We've been given anti-inflammatories/pain killers for him to manage the condition until we feel his time has come...

thats a terrific shame , you will know when it's time .
