Pallets are just rather big parcels requiring a bit of special handling. Only your supplier can provide the carrier details - PalletLine are a National service so maybe there are two delivery/shipping notes involved (i.e. PalletLine may have sub-contracted the consignment). Go back to your supplier and get them to chase down the shipping details again and ask them for their carriers name etc. and their local office details - and then if you're still not happy, start your own tracking process by speaking to them directly.

It will be delivered via two or three different pallet moving companies, to keep the cost down companies use overnight pallet express services which mean it could be collected by anyone who has a spare pallet space, dropped at a central hub, then the process repeats depending on how far the delivery is due to go.

At last, TPN, https://thepalletnetworkltd.co.uk/ have it. I even now have a tracking number. Not sure if they then pass to another company but at least I now know.
Apparently the warehouse of the retailer just stick UK PALLET SERVICE as the carrier as policy, which I find staggeringly stupid but then to have so much difficulty to find out who the retailer has used, is incompetence.
You probably get the feeling that I'm a tad into customer service, part of my last role with Openreach and yes, I'm passionate about good customer service. It is achievable but there needs to be the will to achieve it.

rant over :)

Ian, I think given the circumstances the country is enduring, the dispatchers at Rimmer Bros are doing their job under some duress.

Most garages are closing, or severely curtailing their services, and I would think the courier companies are very stretched at the moment.

It's unusual for the chaps in the stores at Rimmers to drop the ball, however these are extraordinary times, and perhaps we should cut people a little slack.

Drop drivers or Mr White van man to give them a proper name are working hard. I was Mr White van man and I delivered to Via-Tech in South Shields 6 days a week, I once had a breakdown on the A66 and waited for a few hours, the recovery truck had to carry my van and load to Via-Tech to unload. I got home at 10.30PM from a 6AM start, it's the delivery drivers that are keeping the retail world going right now, I salute each and every one of them.
