Hydromount on its last legs?
Hi all, what are the usual symptoms of a hydromount on its last legs on a Diesel? How many miles should they last - I’m closing in on 180k, I have low speed juddering and increased vibration in the car especially at idle. Lower mount will be done this weekend but I’m pretty sure it is already a power flex yellow bush in there fitted years ago by previous owners and not heard of those failing.

Hydromount on its last legs?
I think the hydramount rubber deteriorates, splits and the (glycol?) solution inside leaks out.

I changed mine last year it was looking a bit worn, see link below: https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...92&postcount=1 A 1/2" socket set, a jack, a piece of wood and a spanner set is pretty much it in terms of tools, except the hydramount tool. This is a special tool designed to screw the hydramount out and back in, it took me a matter of minutes to do this bit of the job. I was able to borrow the tool from another forum member. I think there are some people here who have removed them in other ways, have a search of the forum. |
