Rover 75 Cdt Ecu & Fuel Pumps

Hi guy's, i think im getting somewhere with my wiring problem now, but does any one know if the ECU tell's the fuel pumps to work when the ign is turned on? the ECU is not getting the 12v it need's !! their is no voltage to the fuel pump's at all !! cheers. Tony.

Hi Tony, glad to hear things are progressing :)

Looking at wiring diags, the pump gets it power from the relay in passenger fusebox, and fuse 10 and via the inertia switch.

Hi thanks for that mach1rob, i was hoping it was from the ECU ? so it looks like it could be a bit more involved !!! still its gona be fun getting to the wires that run from the under bonnet fuse box !!!! i hope it stay's dry at the weekend ??

The pumps should come on for 20-60 seconds once the ignition is turned on.

Hi Rover fans
I am new here and first sorry about my english, it is not very good.
I have problems with fuel pumps on my Rover 75 2.0 CDT. The under bonnet pump is very loud and in tank fuel pump doesn't work. Last week when i had just 10 - 15 litrs of fuel in tank engine started very hard, after 4 or 5 seconds. I filled the tank to the top and now engine starts OK. As i said, under bonnet pump now is loud. Maybe also this pump is going to fail.
I have one question: Is there just one relay for both pumps and one fuse for both pumps?

Hi Sigor and welcome.

Yes there is 1 relay / fuse for both pumps.

A quick test is to lift the back seat, open the round lid and see if you get 12v to the pump. It is very common for the in-tank pump to fail.

:welcome:Signor. Welcome to the Club. :iagree: Wot If you have a MK2 Facelift there will only be the 1 pump though.

142 euros from

This .org thread explains how to swap the pump over.
