Game controller for Windows 8 64 bit ?

Looking for a game controller for Windows 8 64 bit, it seems most controllers don't or won't claim to play nicely with this version of Windows :(. But some just say 'PC compatible', reviews seem very mixed for all the ones I've looked at. So does anyone use a game controller with win Windows 8 that they feel they could recommend? It would be nice if there were game profiles like the logitech stuff had for XP, unfortunately reviews for the logitech gamepads for Windows 8 aren't very promising.

I would probably look at youtube, tons of reviews for most things on there.

Xbox 360 controller?

You can get a wired one, or wireless that comes with a dongle. You can then connect other wireless xbox controllers or headsets. Works fine on win 7, I assume 8 as well. A lot of games on pc, particular console ports are set up to recognise it

As above, I use the Xbox pc controller on win 7 64 bit, no idea about 8 though. I have avoided it so far...

Thanks for the input guys, I've come to the same conclusion that it'll have to be an xbox360 controller (even and original xbox one won't work :().

I did check up on the Windows hardware compatibility lists and there's only really three controllers approved for Windows 8 , one Saitek, one Logitech, and the XBox 360 one (loads of variations). Neither the Saitek or Logitech can be found anywhere for sale in the UK (online). So it looks like I may as well get a 'proper' MS Xbox 360 (for pc) controller.

I can concur that it does work with Windows 8. Played the flight SIM game flawlessly
