Under Bonnet Bling

Got royally bored this afternoon and found my spray cans of Trophy Blue paint. Then 2 hours later i ended up with this......

Not everyone's cup of tea but I like it :D

Great job! I did mine in silver Inc battery cover, fuse box etc... Then went and ruined it by spraying degreaser on it and it ate into the paint and fetched it all off! Just be careful mate.

I'm familiar with that problem (did it on a mini many years ago) :D

I do like a bit of bling, especially personalised stuff like this. Now,if only you'd painted those 4 bar thingies chrome, that would have been proper "Bling" :drool4::D

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. The lettering is silver but I think the camera has struggled with that.

I did consider getting the vinyl wrap on the letters but all that intricate cutting is beyond me :D

You seem to have got a really good finish - did the engine cover need much prep? And do you fancy doing a V6 one :D

Didn't need much prep to be honest, other than a damn good de-grease. After I had done that I used some break cleaner I had in an aerosol from ECP. This is good and you need to be quick with a soft cloth to wipe it over before it evaporates. It seemed to give the base coat a good key.

Give it a go with a spare engine cover, its simples :D
