Front drop link, what size nut?
What size is the nut on the top of the front drop link of a diesel?
My ground down ring spanner that I have put down somewhere this morning and lost, seems to big. macafee2 ignore me, wife has found spanner and it fits. may try turning steering full lock to the left to see if that gives me better access to nut ggggrrr a 5 minute job taking hours macafee2 |
Hope you managed to get it done. Arctic has a very helpfully How to. And cutting that bit off the top thread has saved me so much time over the years, as we all know how these cars seem to get through them. I did one this morning. 2x17 mm spanner’s plus 10 mm and 8 mm socket to remove spring protector. All the best Chris

My nuts were 15mm but the nuts on the replacement drop links are 17mm. 5 minute job I told the wife, 16 years of weather and the top nuts were a nightmare to remove, 5 or 6 hours it has taken. This included cutting some thread off the new drop links and grinding an old spanner to fit the wafer thin nuts on the new drop link ball joint and realising that I had to lift both wheels clear of the ground before I can remove a drop link macafee2 |
