Red Kite spot!

It's all happening in the sky over Warrington at the mo' :D After my Catalina spot a few days ago a red kite flew over the house this morning getting mobbed by about seven crows! Didn't think our area is common terrain for these birds unless it's a stray from N Wales:shrug: Good to see nevertheless.

We stayed in Lampeter, Wales last year and saw hundreds of Red Kites. Lovely to see:} They even have special feeding farms for them and you can go and watch literally hundreds all feeding at the same time

We used to live near Ilkley and popped over there a few time ourselves. I think they had a reintroduction programme there about 6 - 8 years ago. Also went to one of the red kite feeding areas in Dumfries & Galloway a few years ago and that was quite impressive when they put the nosh out.

Yes, it's definitely an impressive sight :}
A few miles up the road from here there is a nice population of red kites too. Often spot them when driving through.
