cdti 115?? or all 135??
 

morning chaps.............
i wonder if a learned member can clear the above up?I was under the impression that they were all 135 bhp...............yet some specift 115????

any ideas?

the CDTi is actually 131 bhp and the CDT is the lower output.

the output of these engines can be increased with a 'synergy 2'

Note that the CDTi is not necessarily a 135. Some cars are 135 from the factory, some were converted by the dealers. So you cannot rely on using "CDT" or "CDTi" to determine the power level. The way is to check is to look up the version/variant on the V5C document and check it against the table (found elsewhere on here). This will tell you what it was when it left the factory. If it's a 115 at that point, then you need to check if it's had a dealer/xpart upgrade. You can find this out by a) looking for a receipt showing the upgrade has been done, or b) look for the "XPower 135" sticker on the passenger door 'B' pillar. If it has this, then it's a 135.

If you still haven't determined what it is after doing the above, then you can have a dealer check by putting the car on a T4.

My car is a 2004 model, it's a CDTi, yet it was a 115 from the factory. The dealer did the upgrade three months after the car was bought (I have the receipt and the sticker).

what were the changes made in the upgrade?

Hi all. Mine is a 52 plate cdt. ex -dearlership car and V5 says 115. Suits me fine to be honest but from reading on here, its not too expensive to give the unit more punch. personal choice i suppose.

So if it is a 135 i understand that it can be bumped up with the synergy 2?

I thought the 116 could be bumped with synergy 2 as well?

Adding a Synergy2 to your 116 CDT will make it roughly 140 + - 5 BHP dependant on how well the cars been looked after :)

The dealer/XPart upgrade is simply an ECU remap. No parts are changed. I understand these are now available again from XPart, although perhaps a bit pricey.

Synergy 2 will work on both the 115 and 135 versions. Both will have increased bhp/torque, but obviously the 135 will still be ahead of the 115.

Also to avoid any confusion...

115 is the designation for the 116ps version.
135 is the designation for the 131ps version.

"ps" stands for "PferdeStarke" which is German for "horsepower". But the calculation for brake horsepower is slightly different. 1bhp = 0.987ps. So, the 116ps=117.5bhp and the 131ps=132.7bhp.
