zt disc brakes

I know the 75 and zt have different sized discs on their brakes but are tge calipers the aame?
Thinking of upgrading the 75s brakes as its running 18” rims it would be ok with the larger discs?

My understanding is this, the fronts are all the same disc and calliper other than the Zt 190 and 260 which are the same disc unsure if callipers are the same,

again the rears are the same except the 190 and 260 with the 260 having its own custom rear disc,

Happily be corrected if any information giving is wrong :xmas-smiley-008:

aren't the 190 rears the same as the 75?

The front discs for the 75 and ZT are:

284mm and are vented discs, but the discs for the 190 and 260 fronts are 325mm, so you would need the 190 callipers if you want to use the 325mm discs

The rear Discs on the 75 and ZT are slightly different, they are all 276mm, but a lot of ZTs had vented discs, and the 75 tended to have solid discs, so you might also have to update the callipers if you wanted to run vented discs

This will give you information on the discs, which I have used on all my cars, and are a good company to deal with

Hope that helps

thanks for the info Stu, so the brakes in my zt 180 would be the same as the 75?
Not sure how much difference in braking id get for the dollars

dont forget the front carriers. They are seemingly exclusive to the 190 and V8 and not available new. The calipers are shared with some BMWs though and are readily available new.

see the guide at the bottom of this eBay ad HERE

I got a new genuine caliper from BrakesInt for £75 a couple of years ago. Although their eBay page no longer lists them, their webpage is HERE.

If they both have vented rear discs then yes the same callipers.

Braking also depends on how good your pads and discs are, I tend to buy EBC pads to go with the Mtec Discs, currently have EBC green stuff pads on the ZT-T, and Jaguar XF, and EBC red Stuff pads on the XKR

Stu

Sorry stu for jumping in on this, they all have vented in the front, I assume you mean vented/solid rears?

My way of checking at a glance if the front brakes are the 180/190/260 is to look at the pad retaining clip. The clip on the larger caliper, is the same design as the rear clips, but larger, a flat shaped piece of metal.

The smaller caliper (front) uses a shaped piece of heavy gauge 'wire'.

The rears on the 180 should be vented.
