I have so far modified one crank (made it oval), one set of piston seals in the auto box and four sets of tyres from full tread to bald.

Have I got the type of modifications wrong? ;)

In that case, I have upgraded from Harmony to a Symphony set up.

Stil love her to bits though. Much to the other half's annoyance.

Not heard of these before? Were they a standard fitment on some models or an after-market add-on?

Christopher 11th November 2006 14:58

Look at the how-to here: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/index.php?thepage=mods

;)

It's a home made affair I did though - none were ever available for the 75/ZT.

Thanks, yes. I went for white light as the amber was too gloomy as footwell lights - it is crisp and clear and even serves a purpose ;)

Now if I could get the kids to wear flourescent toe nail varnish......

baxlin 13th November 2006 13:37

I didn't use LEDs like Christopher did, I just bought four £1.99 universal interior lights from the local Motorists' Centre.

With 5w festoon bulbs the fronts are fine , but the rears are a tad brighter than the rear interior light. Still look excellent though, and make the seats look as if they are "hovering" above the floor.

Don't know whether to do Puddle lights next, or rear-facing red door edge lights to replace the reflectors. Anyone done either?

My 1991 Rover Sterling had 14 courtesy lights as standard - inc one above each door. My 75 now has 9, the standard 3 front and 2 rear, plus the 4 footwells.

The trafficmaster fit is covered in great detail on the 'other side'. http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthrea...highlight=TMC:

Does the trafficmaster system work on the continent?

Fitting Xenon units is relatively straightforward, the only vaguely tricky bit being the removal of the front bumper. The xenon headlights simply replace the existing halogen units - no change in wiring is required. There are no 'legal' problems over here in the UK, don't know about France though. The difficult bit is finding a pair of xenon units - I just sold my spare set, but you might find a pair of LHD ones on ebay.

I did a post on my front parking sensor fit here: http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=148239 I must admit I did not do it the easy way, which would have been to use an aftermarket kit. If you go the OEM route, the difficult bit is finding the loom from a rear bumper system.

majedm75 20th November 2006 10:04

Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot for your information. I will make some research now.
Concerning Traficmaster, it seems that it exists here under the name of V-Trafic from Mediamobile which have some deal with Traficmaster. To what extent are they compatible? I'm not sure, as I have not tried it yet. :o

See this link: http://www.trafficmaster.co.uk/page.cfm?key=europe

Majed

Kandyman - just for you :)

To Install

1 Go to Halfords and buy Footpump

4 Open front passenger door on your 75 saloon/75 Tourer/ZT/ZTT (delete as applicable)
5 Place footpump in footwell
6 Close door

To use

1 Open front passenger door on your 75 saloon/75 Tourer/ZT/ZTT (delete as applicable)
2 Pick up footpump and carry to appropriate wheel
3 Remove valve cap
4 Connect footpump to valve
5 Operate footpump with right foot
5 When right foot becomes tired / leg aches use left foot
7 When desired tyre pressure is reached stop leg action and disconnect pump from valve.
8 Spend 10 minutes looking for valve cap
9 Refit valve cap

Repeat this procedure as and when necessary

Look at them as the road ahead with three distance markers top of the pyramid is in the distance bottom is closest typically the next junction

a incident when reported will fill a segment a move down the pyramid as you get closer so three empty segments is good

I think you should make the picture active, in a way such that when one hovers his mouse over a particular area of the car, the modifications appear, like on some cars websites. In fact, I also think R70 deserves a website of its own for the mods... :pillow: :envy: :drool4: ;)

Anyone been doing anything interesting to there cars ?

Simon 13th October 2007 20:27

I've not added anything but the local 'mob' community have kindly removed my Union Flag badge from the boot lid

I have added a wooden handbrake lever and wired up a permanent (when ignition is in position one) battery feed for my SatNav phone that I've routed behind the dash with the plug exiting just above the light switch module. No pics (yet) I'm afraid but there is one of the handbrake somewhere...

Found it... ;) Here's my wooden ZT :D

I note in the HowTo that you say the one with the word Rover impressed into the surface is for the earlier, pre-project drive cars. My 51 reg car which apart from a plastic wood dash, appears to be pre-PD, has the coloured Rover viking longship badge in the centre, as in the one you removed.

As the badge is deteriorating a little, I'll be looking for a replacement of one sort or another.

If I get one from an earlier car, it will match the Contour wheels I have replaced the later Crowns with, I suppose.

I assumed the one I replaced was post-PD, but interesting to note that yours is pre-PD. The badge on my original was deteriorating also, hence the replacement. I prefer the look of the 'ROVER' ones as it gives the boot smoother lines IMHO.

Well, I do have a few things to do on the car, (thank you, thank you, thank you Crofts!). And I need to remove the boot liner to secure the new boot handle with some self tappers, so whilst the liner is off, I shall investigate methods of attaching the trinket tray as a boot grab handle.

Certainly. Personally, I don't have a problem closing the boot, but I am aware of others having used the same handle as that fitted to the boot floor/carpet.

Update:

I did some other mods this past weekend, including the excellent spy hole mod. Whilst checking the boot handle, (and therefore having the boot liner off), I checked where the trinket tray could possibly be attached. Unfortunately, I was visiting the in-laws and forgot to take the trinket tray to take measurements, etc. Doh! But there is a large rectangular opening in the boot skin above the lock mechanism that an looks ideal location and should be a deep enough recess for the trinket tray to be flush with the liner. The only issue is how to secure the trinket tray to the boot skin.

The other mod I did was fit the door handle finishers and boy do they look great!

Tim_Burgess 8th March 2008 11:13

Bit of an old post, but I did think of using the one from the tourer spare weel cover, or doesn't the tourer tailgate have a grab handle........

Part No 7 in here

sorry a bit of topic.

From the man that brough us the SLE. http://www.r75-parts.de/en/

http://www.r75-parts.de/pics/kgriff_sml.jpg

Closing the boot of the Seventyfive may be a dirty thing especially on bad and rainy days. For the saloon there doesnt exist any internal handle and even for money you cant buy this helpful accessory from Rover or any known major vendors. The boot lid handle by T.Haag is the solution. It is a simple and handy part which is installed to the boot lid and invites to close the boot leaving the fingers clean. Especially owners with Sandstone Beige interior wont miss this little piece of aluminium.

cjmillsnun 23rd April 2008 16:55

Kandyman do you not fancy front fogs for that posh bumper ?

Kandyman 28th May 2008 21:34

i do have fogs but the back of the bumper has no mounting bracket :(

I have to try and get a picture of a facelift bumper and see if i can get/make a mounting.

I'll make a new post with a picture :)

I hoovered out the fly that had the cheek to snuff it right in the crease where the dashtop and windscreen meet - darn awkward place to get into I tell you! :o :D

Still looking for a genuine walnut handbrake handle to finish the interior off. A walnut / sandstone steering wheel would be nice but I might have to sell a kidney to afford it
