Good news

Hi.
Many here will remember that I lost my wife of 30 years in January. After the loss I was not at all good, I fell into depression, had no reason to live and just continually worked around the home to keep my mind off things. The children had returned to their respective jobs and I didn't see them much as they said the house reminded them of their mum. Driving my 2014 Panda gave me awful feelings as Anne had actually liked its colour and it was the one I bought. I replaced the car with a Red Panda Cross and at least the awful feelings went, This was in early May.
Although I lost my Christian beliefs many years ago I prayed constantly for release and out of the the blue I met a 46 year old Kenyan woman who I never would have believed she was 46 rather thought she was 30. She shone like a bright light to me, very beautiful in both body and mind and a born again Christian. the last few months have been a roller coaster, the love I receive and the love we share is literally mind blowing. She has helped me through all my grief and despair and has brought new life into me. We got engaged two months ago and will marry on the 3rd of August.

Sadly my two step kids want nothing to do with her nor me for that matter, my own child from my marriage to Anne is also being difficult and has told me I am mentally ill. Well that is rubbish, I have a full bill of clean health from my GP who is so pleased for us and has told me that all he wants is his patients good health and has said I look better than I have for many years.

So i am praying for a long and happy life with my amazing and beautiful Judy.

I suppose the step kids reaction is understandable Trevor but you are happy again that's what's important. Wish you and Judy a great future together.

I echo what Steve says, your family's reaction is understandable, considering the short space of time since the loss of Anne. You have a right to a happy life though Trev, and they must understand that.I'm sure Anne will be giving your her blessing, if it wasn't right, you would sense it. You have to think of yourself now, they have their lives and happiness with their partners, you are entitled to that too. Maybe given time they will come round, but for now just think of you and Judy. Best wishes.

I wish you the very best. I cannot imagine the pain you must have felt losing your wife.
Do try and build bridges with all your children. They may feel it is too soon for you to be with someone else.

Jamba Habari! (hello, whats the news in Swahili)........:D

Over the years Trevor, several members have lost their partner/wife and then met another and settled down not long after losing their loved one, I mention this as others have been through what you are going through, the loss and bereavement, new beginnings and challenges. Some never get over it and remain locked in intractable grief. These days there are not any rules about relationships, as each is different. Perhaps your children will come round and perhaps they won't. All the best Trevor and Judy, I hope everything works out and you will both be very happy, positive thoughts :}

Hi Chaps.

Well we married on the 3rd. We had a lovely day with the exception that the cars I had ordered did not appear, it caused me a bit of stress on the day and I had to spend a bit of time on the phone..... not good on your wedding day.

Judy's friends and family did a little of the Kikuyu wedding rituals after leaving the registry office, it was certainly interesting but all those people were lovely and it was heart-warming.

A great day for us both.

The car is a Jaguar SS100 that belongs to a very good friend of mine from Edinburgh, Peter Scott.
