Adivce Needed Please

Hi

I have been going past a dealer who has a 2003 ZT+ 2.0 diesel in a lovely flip paint colour in has 65,000 miles on it, ex company car FSH.

Before I part with some hard earned cash I would be grateful if someone could give me some idea on things to look at and are they good cars

Thanks

Hi there

I'm on the petrol side of the house but I'm sure one of the diesel boys will be along soon.

In general they are very good cars, not a lot goes wrong but (again) the diesel owners will tell you what to look out for.

cheers
Roy

Typhoon is a 'monogram' paint. Very smart but touch up etc will cost more There is a supplier identified and Keith on here will point you in the right direction if you buy. Sounds like a nice motor :)

Buy A Diesel?

Hi Dyl,

I have had a 75 2.0 CDTi 131 for over 2 years and I have found it to be an excellent car with very good build quality. The diesel option on the 75 range is generally very highly regarded.
So far I have had no problems except a duff CD player on the ICE (cheap to replace via EBay) and a few lines disappearing on the trip computer display. Otherwise it has been very reliable and very frugal on fuel (for a big car).

Hope this helps,

Rgds

A good diesel will command a higher price than an equivalent petrol model 2.5 V6, something of the order of £1,000. The monogram paint is quite frankly not a selling point. As Mike says, touch up is available for (typhoon). That is more by luck than judgement.
For that sort of money get an independant inspection done and make sure the car has a FSH.
These were not cheap cars to start with and can therefore be very expensive on major repairs.
65,000 miles means the car is around a 1/4 the way through it's life, clutch would be my main concern here. The engines tend to be bullet proof.

Hope this helps

I think 5k plus your PX is a good price for a 2003 car Typhoon was an expensive option and until recently touch up was only available in half litre minimum for around £285

Paints4u now do 100ml for £39.99 still a bit expensive but then few cars colour look like this

(masking was for a Bumper off exercise btw)
If you buy get a years warranty not that you will need it but no harm having one

A damn good car imho in one of the best colours!

Sounds good to me Dyl. Nice colour and nice matching interior. :D
Diesel engine is a great unit, smooth inexpensive to run and will hold it's value better.
Cruise control is great and reverse sensors a good thing to have. John.
