ZT 190 cut out and won't start
 

Driving up a hill the car just suddenly cut out and now won't start, I put some more fuel in and checked for fuel filter separation but is the older style which apparently doesn't suffer these problems, currently awaiting the rac but any ideas anyone?

Rac came out and diagnosed a faulty crankshaft sensor went to the local motor factors and got a replacement and still doesn't start, but I think I've been given the wrong one part number is "meyle 3148990052" when googled says it's for a BMW e46 so will try a different factors tomorrow :duh:

I don’t think it will be the camshaft position sensor Eddy. Read this quote from RAVE:

“If the camshaft position sensor signal fails during engine running, the engine will run normally until turned off, when it will fail to restart.”

Are you sure about the fuel filter? :confused:

Post edited above I meant to say crankshaft sensor,

But all regardless now a bit more searching of this forum someone suggested a blown fuse,

Turns out it was the under bonnet 15a fuse f1 that had blown just replaced it and its fired up, really couldn't be any happier :D

OK Eddy, I’m glad to hear that you’ve got the car going again but why did the fuse blow? F1 feeds the crankshaft position sensor and the signal from that is necessary for the fuel pump to run. So I would check the wiring to this sensor for a possible intermittent short circuit.
