LAN and RJ45 stuff

I am out of my depth.
can you suggest a decent RJ45 crimping tool and good quality RJ45 male plugs? The plugs are for CCTV

I was thinking this for the tool

what is the difference between these two plugs, which is best?

copper clad aluminium, cheap and nasty stuff made to save them money as pure copper is more expensive, try to use copper cable

ok thanks, no idea what the cables are. I was going to cut the ends off and replace them as a precaution. The signal keeps getting interrupted.

I will check the links you gave me thank you

For the crimp tool, have a look at homebase. I am nearly sure they had some crimp tools for network use quite cheap but looked fairly robust.

I have ordered one of these from Robti's post
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

a lot more then I wanted to spend, in fact about double but I can replace a number of other broken rj45 plugs and if it solves the problem, the expense wont be an issue

Crimping tool arrived and also arrived are the RJ45 plugs from RS components. I found a video on YouTube on how to fan out the Lan wires and insert them into the plug. Doing the first one I did think "I'm never going to be able to do this" but I have now changed 3 plugs.

Don't yet know if it has solved the problem but I have not had a reoccurring fault in the 31 hours since I changed the plugs so fingers crossed.
