xenon headlamp
Hi does anybody know if the front sensor for the xenon headlamp that fits on the front suspension is the same unit thats on the E46..?
|
You need to read the part number off the side of the sensor.
If i recall it is the same as the mk1 mini and another bmw car. (But you need to check this as one car used same sensor front and back and the other didn't.) |
Actuator-secondary throttle traction control part number SWY100030 (208 gbp on rimmers and 120 gbp on ebay) are identical with this part from BMW series 5 E39 2,8l.

part from BMW £2.65 part number 17111712788.
I posted the part number in case someone reads this thread in the future and needs this part as another member was quoted about £152 for the same part but you would have to read his thread for the name of the stockist i remembered that the BMW part was the same as mine broke on me when i had a E34 520 hope this helps members save money:shrug::shrug: |
In tank petrol fuel filter
While investigating fitting the orange clip to the later type in tank petrol fuel filter in my 75 I discovered some info that may be of use. The same type plastic filter/sender assembly was used on the Mini Cooper 2002-2006 (BMW R50/R53) under part numbers 16146757196 also made by Vaico No. V20-0717.
The paper filter comes as a kit with o rings and seals. below is a link to a site which gives an excellent instruction on replacing the paper filter, although it's a mini you will notice the similarity. http://www.billswebspace.com/MiniR50...erDIYGuide.htm |
Brilliant find, thanks!!

Does anybody know if the plastic oil filter head on the CDTi is interchangeable with a BMW equivalent please?
I've tried a number of web searches but can't find an equivalent part number. The Rover part number is LPX 100690. Thanks |
