time to ban these.

The huge fire in the west midlands was started by these chinese lanterns.

They have been known to set alight the roofs of houses also.

Could not agree more!

We had one land our connifers a couple of years ago. Luckily we were all sitting in the garden having a family BBQ for my birthday. Had no idea what we were looking at to begin with but soon stopped and problems with a bucket of water from the pond.

Damn things are so cheap and are in every pound shop round here. a mate of mine will be one of the poor sods called out to that fire in Smethwick.

I agree they must be banned now before there is a loss of life

KarlF 1st July 2013 14:57

Tv's cause more fires with greater loss of life. Lets ban those too :getmecoat:

GT Courier 1st July 2013 15:28

To be fair they should have already been banned, not like it is a rare problem.

(Not the TV though, that is risk worth taking :) )
