Possible ABS issue?
 

Another issues with bluebird...
So on bluebird the front brakes used to squeal. No biggy stripped cleaned and put them back together all good no more horrible noises. On Friday the noise came back. When breaking every so often you can feel the brake pedal pulsating as if the abs was coming on then goes away. The ABS light came on. The next time I turned the car on it went off and hasn't come back on but the issue is still there. ABS Sensor maybe?

Usually related to the rear brakes, had this on my old V6 and it was the build up of flakes of rust from the brake shields that caused the problem. Replaced the lot including new brake shoes with one of DMGRS's special kits - problem disappeared.

Yes Josh, it's very likely that the sensor cable has fallen out of the retaining clip on the suspension strut and is rubbing on the tyre when you apply full steering lock causing damage to the wiring.

i had something similar but it all started when i washed down my battery box,
ABS light on, seemed to have some effect on the abs module under the battery box, dried out and was all fine.
happened twice so far so i no longer put any water near that area.

More than likely a failing sensor or corrosion from the dust shields. Most of these cars will have pretty crumbly dust shields by now unless they have been changed.

With all my 75's and Zeds it's the first thing I have looked for after plugging the car in and finding which wheel is causing the issue. The sensors are relatively cheap but will need drilling out if original.

Maybe worth just checking the connection from main loom.to sensor as well once you know which wheel.

If you don't have access to a diagnostics reader (can I mention TOAF on here:eek:) then there is a way of checking each hub in turn with a DVM which is on here somewhere.
