Kitchen retailers a shower of robbing *******

So Mrs cossie dunc decided we needed a new kitchen, obviously I agreed :D

To cut a long story short, we did the usual got it designed then priced it up with all the usual suspects. Here is a selection of the prices we got from the first price to thr final "best" price.

Now it's a fairly big kitchen 18 units, all appliances new lights and flooring.

Dm design. first price £32000 best price £12900

Wren kitchens first price £15900 best price £10000

Regency kitchens (a small independent family run local company) £16800 no best price or discounts available

Howden kitchens first price £9700 best price £8500

So basically if your willing, every single one of them will sell you it at top price without even flinching.

As a matter of principle I would like to tell them all to get lost.......Mrs cossie dunc may not agree with me:D

Are you getting them to fit it or is it supply only?

I made ours out of sanded roof joists rescued from various skips.

Lovely patina.

Those were all fitted prices, I have my own fitter organised now at a fraction of the cost

We had our kitchen from Howdens and had it fitted by a local kitchen fitter/electrician. Kitchen has been fine and with no problems so speak as you find.

Standard selling practice in this world. Same with double glazing etc. All offer 50% off etc. 50% off what I always ask as there do not appear to be any list prices, if there are they are probably made up to show the offer. I show them the door immediately if this kind of carry on starts. So be warned if you have Everest, Anglian, Thomas Sanderson (blinds) etc etc book an appointment you are in for a long evening. They stay hours and then make you sign "on the day" to get the best deal. All the sales people are self employed and on commission.

when I worked in engraving and the boss had a job he did not want to take on he would double the price and add the date and then double it again... its amazing how many folks coughed up and by that time it was worth he effort...
