Thanks for the replies, everyone. I’m not in a good head space and have t been for some time. My priority is to make my wedding photography business work. I also need to put more money into it. It’s a bit difficult when I’m spending £200 per month on insurance and then extra on tax, fuel, etc. As much as I’d love to keep my coupe turbo, it also needs a fortune spent on it, this is my dilemma. I love that car but do I love it enough to poor thousands more into it? Is this sensible? I don’t have a lot of money. I work full time as well which pays my bills. The photography is still very early days with hardly any bookings at this stage.

I also live at home with my parents and to be honest, it’s all too much. I want my own space and would love to be in a position where I could move out. But, again this costs money. Money that I don’t have....

Space is now also a massive issue. Some of my cars are kept in council lockups which cost me nearly £45 per month each so that’s another expense I could do without...

Also, I don’t have the skills or tools to work on my own cars. My parents don’t allow me to work on cars at home so I never bothered with buying tools or making much effort to fixing things myself.

This is all such a big distraction and a headache for me. All I want to do is focus on my future and some day get settled with my own family, my own house and hopefully some day a successful business in a job that I love doing and I am deeply passionate about. I don’t want to worry about cars anymore...
I’d love a new car that I can drive about and that’s reliable and get me from a to b without the worry of it breaking down.
When I drive my Rovers, I always have that fear of something breaking down. That’s the last thing I want when going to work or on my way to shoot a wedding.

Priority is the main word here and the rest of your life / interests / business venture ( photography) have to come first. If they need financial input then sell the cars and indeed get a modern, reliable car for transport. ( especially as you cannot work on them yourself so even simple jobs are going to incur labour charges)

We have owned up to 8 or 9 cars ( Scimitars) at times but when needs must ( business venture / house etc ) have sold them all. These Rover / MG cars will always be around as they will become more specialist so in the future when you are sorted you can go and buy another one as a toy. When we could, we came back to Scimitar ownership and were able to get the most valued one we have ever owned in over 35 years associated with them.

The other advantage by then is that the club and marque will be falling into the "Classic" status where many cars will be well looked after. At present there are many cars around that are not that well looked after with some owners expecting to buy very cheaply, run everyday on a shoestring and not putting any money into them........and then seem to complain they are not reliable!! So over the next few years many of these will be scrapped leaving a better quality available looked after by true enthusiasts.

You don't have to own a car to stay on this forum and friends you have got to know so always stay in touch for chat and advice etc.

We are not far away if you ever need to talk and stay strong.

Winter blues, I know how you feel, I have ten cars, all need work, time and money and I cant get motivated.

I sold the Blue 75 for that reason.

Hopefully when the sun comes out and the show seasons begins it may change.

as said earlier keep the best , sell the rest its starts off being a hobby but then ends up being a chore and an expensive chore just keep the one in top speck rgds mark

I too now getting bit PTSD with my R75, yet another leak in the boot, running down from hinge area, got some Tolley but need dry weather (lmfao) needs hoovering/needs washing/ needs TLC but this damn weather is so s***
My sunroof drains need sorting,reverse light need sorting,passenger front door still stuck shut, oh! the list is getting longer....... sat here looking at my CCTV, car sat in 430 mph winds and constant drizzle....:getmecoat::shrug::getmecoat::eek::mad:


Feel like throwing in the towel.... BUT I WON'T cos when I can/I will have her back to showroom condition..... ish ;)


Need new grille badge, sat here and can see on cctv faded and worn.....

In the household, we have 4 road going cars, a series 2 Landrover in a thousand bits in the garage:D and a motorbike.

SWMBO only drives one of them and my son is not old enough to drive.

All those things to check are always going on in my head.
I think that it should be time for me to rationalise the fleet a bit, too. :}

Rav. You are losing time that you can't get back. We all get one shot at life and you are addicted to something that is throwing your life into the bin.

Don't lose more time out of your future. Do what you know you must do and do it NOW.

After the mental shock your outlook will rapidly improve as you do the things that are going to advance your future and lead you to obtain the things you really want.

The longer you wait the weaker your resolve will be to make changes.

Remember that the rut you are currently in will become a grave far quicker than you can imagine And harder to get out of.--:eek:

I'm already working full time nearby as well as working on my photography.


The winter isn't the problem. I have too many cars and not enough time, space or money to manage them all. Five cars is just too much for me.


My daily shed which is my first ever 75 I've owned has been off the road for 6 months due to clutch failure (again!). I wasn't planning on putting this back on the road. My plan was to break it. My friend came over a few weeks ago and felt sorry for it and offered to put it back on the road for me for very cheap. He has now almost completed the work so it should be back on the road within the next week or two. I will drive this one for the time being to save money on fuel instead of the dreadul, overrated V6 auto which I want shot of.


I then have my Diesel saloon typhoon, one of just nine made. This was an impulse buy and has been off the road since I bought it...I would like to keep this one but then again I'd like to keep them all!


My coupe turbo I've owned since 2006. That needs quite a fair bit of work. Mostly electrical issues and cosmetically, it's not clean....Arches and sills have rotted quite badly.


My 620Ti - Mint. Nothing wrong with that at all but I fear that will go the same way as the coupe. Do I need this car? Absoultely not, but I do like it. It was a hidden gem.


My ZT-T typhoon. Looks the part but hate the V6 auto. :puke:


All I want to do is focus on my life and future and not cars. If I had it my own way and had a nice house with lots of space to keep them all, it would be nice. But, paying £45 per month for a few lockups isn't the way and also the lockups are damp which isn't helping. My coupe turbo got worse inside the lockup then out I think....
