If the die hard MG fans are having a hard time with the new. MG cross overs :duh:

The new MG pickup truck should have them approaching apoplexy. :D

Not a bad looking thing. The other new MG's seem to have very odd proportions to me.

I saw the link and before I clicked it I was hoping that it'd be a ute version of the MG6 which could sell well in markets like Australia, now that would have been cool.

That will have me running to the dealer . . . . not sure which dealer but won't be a MG one.

MG as we think of it from the 50's, 60's and 70's has gone. In much the same way that Land Rover have moved from making agricultural, utilitarian vehicles (with small profit margins), to luxury 4x4's with much bigger returns, it would seem the new MG are finally 'moving with the times' too.

No point building stuff that no one wants, if pick-ups are selling well, then why not ? :shrug:

Just because we know them historically for cheap, fun sports cars, doesn't mean they can't move into new markets in an effort to increase their sales. Let's be honest, if Rover had had more money, they may still be with us if they'd developed new style products that up & coming youngsters wanted to buy.

So MG pick-ups may not be what we're use to, but I generally only hear good things about the 3, 6, GS and newer ZS, so I say good luck 'em ! :}

However, I'll be sticking with my old Discovery that'll go anywhere, tow anything and most importantly.....I can fix it at home ;)
