Radio code
Hello,
Had to re-connect battery and as common problem here, need now code for the CD80 radio. Well, there is some website or few to check it but they asking me to send radio to them and after day or two they will send it back :(. Well, it takes time and increase the price (up to £35). I would like to take radio to the local "specialist" to unloock it. Can you recommend anyone in Strood or even Medway area, please  (I already checked all paperwork and radio cover for the code) Or maybe you recommend to upgrade to some other unit then CD80 ? Thanks a lot Patrick |
there is a bloke that can do codes on here or on .org i think look under the ice section on both places and you will prob find him

Radio Code
Do you have the service history book?
If so, look for the supplying garage of your car when new. Ring them up and ask them for the code - usually stored in their computerised records. Thats what I did when it happened to me. Good luck |

Yes you right, this is great thing. Save lot of time, money and patience ;) One more time big, big THANKS to DAVE (stocktake) CD Player plays CDs very well, no problems at all, only radio has a problem to catch radio signal but I think I have to buy some mgic box to make it better. I think there is some separate thread about it. Have a good day all of you! Patrick |
Quick note to thank you for this information - my CR80 was inadvertently damaged, and I bought a second hand CD80 (without code). This method enabled a reset and recoding. Fantastic, and many thanks again.

Hi maybe Im a bit dumb but can someone tell me which is the i button and where is the reset button? Just trying this procedure so I can get the radio going until I find a replacement regards terry

Recoding Procedure
Hi Terry
I have a unit with a fold down front panel and the reset 'button' is on the rear of that panel. Its actually a hole which you push a pin or pen nib into. The i button is the Information button on the front (if you have one), it is a small round button. I have a CR 80 and it worked with that as well.I'll post a picture tonight if you still need help Jack |
Hi thanks for that I found a picture of the radio on the net showing the i button, but my CD-80 doesnt have that button? forund the reset button tho. Any ideas anyone before I bin it? regards terry
|
Information button
When I first attempted this process, I missed the bit about the i button and it did not work, and each time I got it wrong it doubles the time before you can have another go - got up to 8 hours at one stage. So I suspect that the i button is a critical part of the process
Sorry I can't help any further |
just to let you know this does work
as i did it today on my zt cdti as i had no code it was the cd80 model now i got fine tunes in the car thanksssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss |

I don't suppose that the freezer trick works? |
I haven't heard about the freezer trick for years! Has anyone tried it with modern radios?

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I need to re-code a CD80 I managed to find.
Need some elaboration Recoding Procedure Iovox Head units (CD 80 and CR 80) 1. Whist the unit is plugged in, but in off mode, press and hold i for 15 seconds. 2. Press right button Forgive my ignorance but what is the "right" button  |
Radio Code
If I remember rightly the left and right 'buttons' mentioned are the main knobs for volume (left) and tuning (right)

A quick search over a coffee and I found this post and after waiting for the radio to have a half hour break , it let us follow the instructions and we were back in business. Thanks so much for the advice and we also had to press the right side button instead of button 6 ! |
I have the CR80 with the flap down thing for the CD. If you use the CD then the radio loses the code and all the settings so need to re-programme the channels.
I see in the how to stickies that the code can be removed altogether but wonder if this will solve my problem? Daft thing is it all works fine otherwise. I'm planning a new head unit but the HPFP, new hydramount and now wheel bearing have taken the money. JohnnhyBG |
