just got to this stage do all 5 bolts shown here have to come out .. i've one with a dodgy hexagon :duh: C |
I guess they must as anything in the way of the alternator coming upwards has to go.---:}

Got a set but don't think theres room to get on in with a wrench but will try as a 2nd last resort.

So as Ceedy suggests - I too thought it better to entrust the job to someone else. And my mechanic says it’s a relatively easy job from underneath with the car in the air, support the engine, remove engine mounts, lower engine a bit and then access is easy and quick. So from my experience of alternator replacement - prepare all you can to reduce labour cost (remove undertray etc) and save yourself enormous agro by getting a trusted professional to do it. |
6 bolts come out but not the middle one , the 5 visibles and one lower down out of sight .
