Removing CD changer in glove compartment
 

Good evening!

I'm about to replace the CD changer in my '02 Rover 75 V6, but I'm wondering what to take off from the underside in order to get to the screws under the unit.

I am most grateful for any suggestions.

On my 04 facelift, I opened the fuse compartment cover, found and disconnected the connector from the CD unit. There are four 10 mm nuts and washers that can be unscrewed from the top of the fuse compartment (they project down from the glove box and are not easy to see but easy to feel). You can then lift the CD changer out of the glove box taking care to feed the connector through the hole. :}

It maybe that the changer is held in by 2 side to side strips of velcro and no bolts as 2 of mine have been. Both tourers 1 51 plate & 1 52 plate.

I'm looking at replacing my CD changer with a Bluetooth unit so this is good information.
Has anyone tried one of the Bluetooth adaptors that uses the CD changer plug?
They sound like a good way to update the sound system without changing the original radio. I like the sound and it's nice to keep the original look.
I get a lot of comments about the cassette player slot. Seems they aren't all that common anymore! :)

The changer has a small bracket bolted to each side (#2 & 3 in diagram).

The underside of each bracket has two fixed screws that go through the glovebox floor and four nuts hold them in place (#5 in diagram). Access to the four nuts is from inside the passenger fuse compartment, which is opened using the two slotted turnscrews on the cover.

You might find the CD changer cables run down through a hole in the glovebox floor.
