Malta
Well time for bed as tomorrow we fly to Malta.
If you see brits confused in a Citreon C1 it will be us:duh::duh::duh: |
:} Have a good one , been there a few times and always liked it , it's lost a bit of it's "olde world" charm since joining the EU but that's progress I suppose !
|
Very friendly people the Maltese, love the british. Been there quite a few times, do take care if you're driving over there, their driving is not the best in the world to say the least!
Have a good time, there's plenty to see. |
We're off next week so we might see you there :cool:

A ppd Cowley car:drool4:, shame about the colour and the wheels though.

While you're in Mellieha visit the war time tunnels near the church in the village , amazing to think people used them as air raid shelters , well worth exploring :}
|
Tonight we are off to The Military Tattoo and tomorrow is 'Mtarfa Miltary day, a lot of WWII stuff going on, the shelter you speak about is minutes from us, just trying to catch it open

Love being in Malta when the festivals are on , never heard such loud fireworks :eek:

Azure Window Gozo
Just heard the sad news that the Azure Window on Gozo has collapsed.
This beautiful landmark was cut out of the limestone over the ages with the weather. I've actually gone under it in a one of the small boats that go out from the nearby Inland Sea, another great wonder on Gozo. I haven't seen any of the photos yet but it will be a huge pile of rubble. This brings to mind a few years back when I was out on a rocky old track in a friends Land Rover Discovery. Joe parked up by the roadside on what looked like solid rock. The view out to the sea was beautiful and we were probably around a 150 ft above the sea. As we drove off I looked back to be horrified that we had parked up on a precipice. I dread to think what could have happened. :eek: |
Returning home tommorow after another break in Malta.
This last 12 days I've spotted 4 x 75's including 1 tourer and all have included the number 75 in some form on their registration plates, one being ROV 075 There's quite a large number of Evoques and Discovery Sport's now on the Island and at least one very noisy V8 Range Rover, a new model white one being driven like it was stolen. Hopefully the weather will be kind to me when I get back as I have a huge backlog of work to clear on the cars at home. |

0Yes I found out after posting that it had actually collapsed from under sea level so it was the supporting stack that collapsed rather than the bridge part.
I had hoped to visit Gozo last week but just didn't have enough time as my eldest son along with his missus and the wee one joined us for a week. BTW I've added the Azure Window to my screen on the pad. |
