help
Hi , i bought a rover 75 Tourer a little while ago to tow a caravan , i have bought and fitted a secondhand tow bar ,,, but now comes the wireing  . i have wired older cars brfore where you just splice into the wires at back of car , but i noe reolise this canot be done with the 75...... the brakers i bought towbar from have suplied me with no less than 3 wiring looms with plugs !! but i dont know if any are ment for my car .
one has what i think is a reylay with a buzzer on it looks like a small circuit board with a round plastic buzzer on it (i will try and atach pic later ) but i have no idea how or where to wire it . can any one help ?? many thanks Mike . |
You can splice in at the back - but you won't get the benefit of the car's inbuilt "caravan indicator bulb failure warning" on the instrument display - you'll only get that with the pukka Rover wiring loom. However, the spliced in version does have a warning buzzer to do the same job - but it can be hard to hear inside the car :(
Your best answer might be to nip in and see Hadrian Caravans at Thornaby Place - they've set 3 of my cars (including the Rover) up for towing, including towbar and electrics and they do know what they're doing. |
local man

I'm on holiday atm , could have pm'd you the car wiring code and the towing electric code if I was at home. At least you are getting it sorted,I have bought stuff from Hadrian before when I had problems, as I was staying at WW Park at the time.
