Both have similar mileage (13,000 kilometer difference) both on the same brand and size of new tyres.
Graeme

I noticed a nice difference when I took my tyres from a set of crowns and fitted them into the comets.

Crowns definitely where a quieter wheel when fitted to the same car (my tourer) but exact set of tyres where definitely louder on the comets at motorway speed.

There both mk1 models, maybe a tourer is quieter in general?

Gosh that's a late one.
MGR would be turning out just a bare shell on wheels by then, probably called
"project drop" :D

Lol, I mean 2001.:D

Dont know if it is project drive related or not but both my late 2001 and late 2002 cars have the short bolt. Rimmers diagram shows the long type.

So maybe its a cowley=>Longbridge thing rather than project drive. The long one is a nice feature, shame it went.

just read the original post in regards to the leather stitched handbrake grip being replaced by a plastic one on lesser cars, my contemp se has the plastic type but has the leather stitched gear knob

I'm surprised that the boot badge is pre PD, I prefer the post PD chrome mount. I'm also surprised that the chrome mount is cheaper than the badge...

wasnt not aware of a long bolt for the strap.the short one i find annoying.as its one of those things that goes in straight away or is bit of a fiddle.so as my battery tray is worse for wear after a leak i have found long bolt one for it with the tray which in my opinion will be a lot better:}

My 2005 75 has the long bolt
