When is a zip not a Zip ???
Ive just spent the afternoon replacing the rear seat covers on the Ztt , now everything has gone ok i just have one problem.
How to i zip up the covers now ??????? There is no puller :shrug: Is there a tool out there to do this ? Many thanks Steve Ps Front seats tommorow ;) |
Bump...think I need to know the answer to this too....:o

Hi Guys, when we used to fit covers we had a normal puller that came off the end of the zip after it was closed and we used it again and again can only suggest you look for a compatable puller from another zip
|
Thanks Roger....will try that...if I can find a big enough puller..:)

the proper tool is a pair of pliers (sort of) that slide along the zip closing it up
not sure if you can buy these anywhere tho:shrug::shrug::shrug: rob |
I've been down this road. There is a special tool to close the zip and I couldn't track one down. All you need to do is find a zip of the same pitch, take the slider off, add a cable strap through the slider and away you go....

Cheers , luckily swmbo used to work a a sewing machinist so once i have located a slider i should be home dry :}
btw i think i will be ordering these to finish the job http://www1.westfalia.net/shops/clot...repair_kit.htm |
I just lined up the whole length of the black plastic flat trim (one side at a time), and folded it over and into the white plastic U shaped trim in one go. Then pressed it together with my fingers. much easier than trying to zip it up. I have done 3 this way, (5 if you count the two practice goes I had with a scrap seat before I did the first leather one) I stripped mine yesterday to fit new seatbelt, but swapped it onto a seat frame that had a ski hatch.
A little 1:1 fairy liquid and water and it goes together a piece of cake Would put up some pics but photobucket is shut for maintainance |
