Dutch Rover enthusiast
Hello all,
I am Thomas, 'just' 16 years old and I live in The Netherlands in Heiloo. I am a Rover lover since I was a little child. My has driven Rover since 1993, his first one was an Austin Montego 2.0DT Clubman, than he bought a Rover Tourer 1.8SLD ( rare cars, especially the diesel ). In 2004 he bought his first 75, a White Gold 2.0CDT, but after 5 months he had an accident and the car was total-loss. Than in September 2004 he bought a new 75, 2.0 CDTI Tourer Zircon Silver ( almost new, just 17.000 km - 10.500 miles ). We still have this 75, it's in superb condition and has 215.000 km on the clock ( 135.000 miles ) In June 2008 we bought a second Rover ( mother's car ), a Rover Streetwise 1.8 CVT, rare edition of the Streetwise. It's built in February 2005, so it's one of the latest Rovers. It also got the new dash. The Streetwise also is in a superb condition, it has just 38.000 km on the clock ( 23.750 miles ). Pictures say more than words, so here they are: http://i56.tinypic.com/xmn5g2.jpg http://i54.tinypic.com/2e5si93.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/rvkocm.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/2w2n6vc.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/imo6xf.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/2ahuv88.jpg Streetwise: http://i56.tinypic.com/21ah4z7.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/vimseb.jpg http://i52.tinypic.com/33dwpyr.jpg New exhaust, which sounds very nice :)! http://i56.tinypic.com/2dqiwyo.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/28u0ksy.jpg Here some pictures of the total-loss 75: http://i55.tinypic.com/9942o4.jpg http://i52.tinypic.com/2nuujat.jpg http://i54.tinypic.com/2zs34tf.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/2n71995.jpg I am not a real newbie a think, my father and I even joined one of 'your' meetings, in Gaydon last April, was a great trip and meeting!!!: http://i56.tinypic.com/1zya7hw.jpg Some of you perhaps know my father (Pim), because he organised the meeting in The Netherlands/Schoorl in Oktober 2008, there were 3 or 4 75's from the UK. He is also Boardmember and Moderator from www.r75.info. As I said I am from The Netherlands, so forgive me my language mistakes:bowdown: Kind Regards, Thomas |
Hi Tomas,
You have fantastic cars !!! Welcome to the forum and I hope you'll stay here for a long, long time ! All the best and happy holidays ! Regards from Serbia Milos |
Very sad to see the 75 in that state :icon_sad:
The Streetwise was an interesting development of the 25...... Glad to see you on the site though :xmas-smiley-031: |
welcome Tomas, i was in Amsterdam last July, there were quite alot of 75s
Merry Christmas |
Thank you all for the welcome!
@dragrad: I agree, that such a state of a Rover 75 is sad to see, but our present 75 is much more beautyful than that one was. It's got more options, no scratches and the color... well even after 6 years I still don't know which one I prefer :D( White Gold or Zircon Silver ). @g-mac: there are indeed quite a lot of 75's in The Netherlands!:) |
Hello there and welcome here, another Dutch member!
In addition: There are 4500 Rover 75's registered in the Netherlands at this moment. Every year the number is going down, two years ago there were around 5000 75's. So cherish you 75, We will be driving a classic car in a few years:biggrinsanta: |
Hi Thomas,
what a car !!, and those wheels, looking for them a long time :biggrinsanta: I'm also a member from the Netherlands and this club is great. Sadly I had and have lots of problems with my 75. Last year got a new engine and since august the car again is at the garage, waiting to get repaired. Probably headgasket again. Hope 2011 will be a problem free year for my 75. But selling the car is not an option. regards from Enschede |
Hi Lucky75owner,
Thank you! That's a pity! Hopefully your 75 will be back on the road soon, so you can enjoy driving this beautyful car. But nice to hear you won't sell your 75! @ Arjan M: Thank you, but I guess you know me from the Dutch MG-Rover club..;) |
hello , a real shame about the 75 that was damaged ... i have had online contact with your dad on the German club which i am also a member of and i will being going over to the meet over there next June so may see you then . welcome to this club :xmas-smiley-021:

Great looking cars, welcome to the club - good to get some young blood on board. Noticed the damaged 75 was in what looks like a rover grave-yard, are parts easy to get over there?
